What are the six best American cities for growing old and happy? I have some exciting news! Sequim has been named number one of the six best American cities for growing old and happy. The Huffington Post surveyed people and analyzed the results, and the six cities from one through six are: 1.) Sequim, Washington, 2.) Edinburg, Texas, 3.) Denver, Colorado, 4.) Sarasota, Florida, 5.) Napa Valley, California, and 6.) San Diego, California.
6 Best American Cities for Growing Old and Happy
This is no surprise to those of us who have lived in Sequim for many years. I’ve said before that if you could make a checklist of 100 of the most important things you would want in the perfect retirement location, Sequim would have more of those items checked than any other place in the U.S. Well, when it comes to growing old and being happy, many other people involved in the survey and the Huffington Post agree that Sequim is one of the Best American cities for Growing Old and Happy.
6 Best American Cities: Sequim is No. 1
Years ago Sequim was also named one of the 10 best places to retire in America. It’s surprising how many people around the country know about Sequim and our incredible Blue Hole, the water and the mountains, the Olympic National Forest, the recreation, and the quality of life on the Olympic Peninsula. Of all the cities that people talk about in coffee shops in Santa Barbara, Miami, Boulder, Anchorage, Boise, Dallas, Santa Rosa, or Charlottesville, Sequim keeps entering the conversation.
I would concur with the Huffington Post that Sequim, Washington is one of the Best American cities for growing old and Happy. I’m not old yet, but I am happy.
