How far is Seattle from Sequim? It’s a very pleasant drive by ferry or by driving through Tacoma. Depending on highway traffic, it’s about a 2.5 hour drive. You can take a ferry from Kingston to Edmonds and drive south on I-5 to Seattle, or you can take the Bainbridge Island ferry to downtown Seattle. Either way, it’s about a two hour adventure one way.
How Far is Seattle From Sequim via Highway
It’s a very enjoyable drive to Seattle, and traffic is not bad on Highways I-101, I-104, I-3, I-16, and I-5. You don’t want to get caught in the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan rush hour traffic, because that can be unpleasant. Otherwise, it is a wonderful drive.

Enlarge the photo above and you’ll see how far Seattle is from Bainbridge Island across Puget Sound. I took this photo from the ferry, and the moment I snapped the photo, this Seagull posed for me with downtown Seattle perfectly on the horizon. Now you know how far Seattle is from Sequim.
