Searching the MLS (multiple listing service ) for homes can be confusing, especially because the Sequim and Port Angeles area has two different systems for searching the MLS. If you are searching the MLS in the Port Townsend, Port Ludlow, and Port Hadlock areas, that is a different MLS than the primary MLS in the Sequim area. In addition, many Sequim and Port Angeles real estate agents only have the database for one of the MLSs. Also many buyers don’t know this, but the Zillow database is full of bad data and the Trulia site also is not 100% accurate. Let me show you how you can access all the listings in all of these areas with the two best sites for searching the MLS that are 100% accurate. All of my data comes directly from the local real estate agents’ listings. You will want to bookmark these two MLS sites.
If you’re searching the MLS in the Sequim and Port Angeles area, the best MLS site in my opinion is this one (click on the image to enter the site). This site includes all the listings in the Olympic Listing Service.
Searching the MLS in Port Townsend, Port Ludlow, Port Hadlock
If you want to search the MLS in the Port Townsend, Port Ludlow, Port Hadlock, and Silverdale areas, this is the best MLS site in my opinion. This site includes the entire Northwest MLS, which is the primary MLS for these areas (as well as most of the State of Washington). Notice on this site there is a little drop-down menu to select which MLS you want to search. Click on this image to enter the site.
Searching the MLS
Both of these MLS sites are designed by me and programmed to give you the best navigation with 100% of all the listings in these areas and the most accurate information, because all of my data comes directly from the source–directly from all the real estate agents’ own listing sheets. Sites like Zillow and Trulia do not have this level of accuracy. These sites are not national sites, and I don’t sell advertising to real estate agents, which is the primary reason Zillow and Trulia exist.
Both of these sites are very powerful, so play with them and learn how to use them, but if you have questions while you are searching the MLS, let me know by email (chuckmarunde@gmail.com) or call me and I will help you make your search more effective. After all, your goal is undoubtedly to find the ideal retirement home when you are searching the MLS.
