The Black Bear Diner is Sequim’s newest restaurant, and it is the place to go since it’s recent opening.  It’s been packed, and last night there was a 20 minute wait to be seated.  The Black Bear Diner is located next to the Holiday Inn Express, a favorite hotel for many of my buyer clients who come to Sequim to look at homes.

Sequim has had a shortage of restaurants for years, and so it is no surprise that the Black Bear Diner has been welcomed by Sequim residents enthusiastically.  John, the manager of the Black Bear Diner has done a great job juggling all the challenges of opening a new restaurant, including organizing the restaurant facilities and inventory, advertising, and hiring and training all the new employees.

My clients who come to Sequim to look at homes ask me all the time, “Where would you recommend we eat?  Can you recommend a restaurant?”  Now for my clients who stay at the Holiday Inn Express, that is a very easy answer.  My first answer is probably, “The best breakfast in all of Sequim is at the Black Bear Diner.”  Fresh eggs, real homemade sausage patties with just the right seasoning and hash browns with delicious potatoes that have just been sliced up and cooked, and fresh hot coffee make this unquestionably the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time.

Now when my clients come to town and stay at the Holiday Inn Express, I know where we will meet for breakfast or coffee before we go out to look at homes – The Black Bear Diner.
