This is December’s real estate market report. The statistical information is no surprise. December is almost always a quieter month in terms of listings and sales. And fewer people arrived from out of town to look at homes in December, but that’s no surprise either. The cold weather and the holidays kept many home.
Real Estate Market
While some retirees still came to Sequim and view homes (I showed many couples homes in December), overall there were fewer buyers arriving, and the retirees who did arrive were looking more than they were buying.
New listings were down, but that is explained by the fact that many homeowners were not planning to list their home for the first time in December, and while some renewed their listings on December 31st, many also let their listings expire, waiting for the spring to put their homes back on the market.
While the Sequim real estate market is quieter in these winter months, buyers are still buying.
