Sequim weather is a topic of conversation all over the country. This is true. Sequim has been written up in retirement and travel magazines for its incredible weather for at least 15 years. The weather even has names: The Blue Hole and The Rain Shadow. Sequim has been named one of the 10 best places to retire in America. There’s even a book entitled, Buying and Selling Real Estate in the Rain Shadow. [Full disclosure: I wrote that book.] In this photo taken today, we have definite proof that spring has sprung in Sequim.
Why is Sequim Weather So Famous?
Sequim gets one-third (1/3) the rain fall of Seattle. It’s great. On a day when it is raining in Seattle like cats and dogs, quite often you drive into Sequim and suddenly there is a hole and it stops raining. I have personally observed this many times over the past 17 years.
I like to compare Sequim weather with Port Angeles weather, and you can do that right here.
