Sequim weather just brought us some cold temperatures, and since it is November, it’s probably time we see some winter weather. The forecast for Monday, November 4th, is, “Overcast with rain, then a chance of rain after midnight. Low of 39F. Winds from the SSW at 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%.” Thirty nine degrees is icy cold for Sunny Sequim. But it certainly is a lot warmer than many other places. This morning the ice on my car was a gentle reminder of winter’s arrival.
Sequim Weather: Cold
Sequim Weather and Real Estate
November and December are the big holiday months of the year, and the coldest months, too, although January can rival December for cold weather. Most homeowners assume that buyers are not looking at homes during these winter months, but that would not be true. New listings are coming on the market, and buyers are arriving from southern California and Houston and Yuma. These buyers have been watching the online listings, and since many of them are totally retired, they can come up in November or December or anytime they want. Sequim weather may be cold, but believe me, that has not stopped buyers. It may have slowed them down a bit, but not stopped them.
What online MLS site are buyers using so much? The positive feedback from Sequim4Sale.com is incredible, and it’s a very user friendly site that includes all of the local listings no matter which Realtor listed it. Buyers who have not found their ideal retirement home are using the e-Alert option so they will be notified the first day a new listing goes on the market with their ideal parameters. So buyers are still looking and coming and buying, despite the cold Sequim weather.
