The Sequim weather report today is snow and lots of it. This is a bit of a surprise. Yesterday it was dry and grassy, and today, there must be eight inches of snow in the front yard. The Sequim School District has closed all schools for today. It’s too snowy on the highways for buses to make their runs up and down the hills that have not yet been cleared. This is amazing, and since it is so rare, frankly it’s kind of fun for most of us, certainly for the kids who get to stay home.
Sequim Weather is Snow Today

These Sequim kids took a rare opportunity to go sledding in Robin Hill Park. It was fun and laughter for sure, and there were some snow ball fights, too. I was invited to ride a sled to the bottom, but I declined as I do not intentionally plan to buy the chiropractor a new boat.
As someone said, this may be the last hurrah for winter, and once it gets it out of the way, we will see a bright and sunny spring. At least that’s our hope. We just don’t see this kind of snow very often and certainly not this late in the year, but Sequim weather does tend to vary from year to year. I suppose that could be said almost anywhere in the country this year.

I do have a home to show this morning at 10:30, so that should be interesting. Aha, as I finished typing that last sentence, my client called to say she has never driven in snow before and prefers to stay home by her wood stove. Very good. That’s probably wise. Radical Sequim weather should be heeded.
Most of our highways in the area are not hilly, and will be safe to drive, but many people do live up in the hills, and I am sure they will want to just stay home today and not risk driving down steep driveways or roads. Bell Hill has some very steep roads near the top, especially on the west side of the hill. Sunny Sequim? Well, what can I say? This is Sequim weather.
